QUESTION: What is the best gym in KW area for a fitness newbie trying to loose weight and tone up? Women only facilities preferred but normal coed is fine, personal trainers needed to figure out shit.
I'm at World Gym on Parkside near Northfield. If you're North of campus its very accessible. I can't say how good their personal trainers are but they always have clients and I've seen many repeats. Its pretty cheap and there's a women's-only section.
No. Fuck you. Don't be advertising that shit on here. It's nice now when there are no skinny buck fifty bros hanging around the machines all trying to talk each other up while browsing their smartphones for the closest pokemon bullshit. Fuck you. Go to Modvados or jog.
Plus, women's only facilities are sexist. Snowflakes can't handle their own paranoia that someone is looking at them? The horror? Eye rape! That person is harassing me! Wahhh!
@1a, I'm not OP but have attended both coed and women's only. It's not just about "eye rape". Men can be really judgemental and hog all the machines. We get made fun of all the time for going to the gym and doing nothing but "20 minutes of cardio and squats" or "weight lifting with sissy 5 pound free weights". We are not men. The majority of us don't go to the gym to bulk up, we just want to stay healthy and toned. You're probably trolling but either way, don't be ignorant. We want to be comfortable and actually have access to benches, weights, and machines.
@c: "toned" isn't a thing. You're looking to lose fat, gain muscle or both. Just FYI. Also, women don't get bulky like men do. Take a look at a natural bodybuilding competition for women (natural is key here) and then think about how many hours those women train for that look. Your 1-2 hours a week won't get anywhere close to "bulky" regardless of the weight you do. What limiting yourself to inferior exercise will do though, is lead to inferior results.

^Apparently we've got a bit of a problem with elitist shit-sticks. Don't worry though, there's lots of all types of people who go to World Gym OP.
