Although my highest marks were in the arts, I wanted a career that would let me comfortably support a family. I do think engineering was the right choice for me because it is fairly broad and can lead to a lot of jobs, not necessarily engineering jobs either. After four years I've found an industry that I really love working in and will allow me to provide for my kids.
Having kids is such a illogical and selfish choice. Re-evaluate your priorities. Picking engineering so you can procreate and produce more people to deplete the world's resources? What a self serving idiot.
@1a: How is it an illogical choice? It's selfish, but it's completely in line with evolutionary advancement. As much as we may like to think otherwise, humans are still animals in the grand scheme of things.
