QUESTION:

I'm in a new city for coop where I don't know anyone, and I'm considering joining Tinder. I don't want people in my hometown to be able to find me when I come home. Is it possible to only be seen by people when I'm away at coop or will the app automatically switch my location even if I don't open it when I come home?

    You can uncheck 'Discovery' in the settings tab before you get home. That way, nobody will see you on the list.
