Didn't really have any particular passions when I applied for university. UW Engineering & UofT Engineering were some of the harder programs to get into, so I figured it'd be a lot easier switching out than switching in. I got into both, chose UW because of Co-op.
It was 2007 and I thought the markets would turn sour. I planned my exit from the fields in Alberta, but had to decide between a few Ivy League schools in the US or staying in Canada. I thought the Yanks would turn nationalist especially if I was on scholarship at an elite institution. UW was part of a package deal with Laurier. Boy did I choose wrong.
Basically because of co-op. No regrets though, co-op was hella interesting and the school terms were both busy and fun. I feel like everyone who hated it here was just waiting for fun to happen to them rather than going out and making it happen.

ReplyDeleteCan you elaborate? Co-op, low cost?

ReplyDeleteIt was a three hour drive away from home and no one who went to my high school was going there.

ReplyDeleteNah but really co-op. Just co-op. I can't imagine graduating from engineering without so much real world experience.
Due to the fact that I was a retarded teenager.
