QUESTION: Dear People who just graduated,
How did you find your first job?
I am still stuck in the job search process. I applied to a position at
my previous employer and I was so shocked that I didn't get it. I always
hear miraculous stories of people returning to their co-op employer but
I guess it doesn't happen to me. I feel so bummed out :(
Sucking cock always works

DeleteI just started my masters. Easier than finding a job
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the cold reality of what happens after graduating these days. Between overpopulation and large companies like RIM downsizing, there are a huge amount of people who are unable to find jobs in their field due to the overwhelming competition. I try to tell students that this is the new reality. Education does not guarantee you a good job, or any job these days. Do what many others of us have been forced to do: Take a retail or food service job to survive.
ReplyDeleteMcDonalds or Walmart. Better yet, work at both in the same building.
ReplyDeleteChoose the positions you really want (job mine, various job finder site, linkedin) and put some good effort and time in creating a tailored resume and cover letter along with finding connections (through your network or even just doing a cold search) that work in that industry/company. Stay motivated and don't give up!! All the best :)
