It's a big deal. Don't do it again, pull your shit together, you're either wasting your parents money and their effort in raising you or your wasting your potential. Oh and if you failed due to something not stupid (a.k.a you didn't drink it away or do some dumb engsoc thing), shit happens.
I failed my first term, and later on decided engineering is terrible for me - but through that I at least decided what kind of career I wanted. If you fail, seriously consider if you really need a degree in engineering for what you want to do.
