QUESTION:
Whats the largest age gap you would date? I am 25, and am into a 35 male.

  1. For me, it's less about age gap and more about where you're at in your life. I dated one guy during my first year of university; I was 18 and he was 25, employed and had a house of his own. I always felt like I was trying to catch up to him and he never took my academic obligations seriously. It didn't end well. Now I'm with a fellow who's turning 27 this year, while I'm turning 23. When we started dating, three years ago, he was still living at home and working at a retail store. This meant that we both ending up growing together, and I never feel like our power dynamic is inequitable. It's a lovely feeling.

    1. +1 for this answer. It is definitely about where you are in life more than the age difference. Granted, 25 dating a 40 year old may have issues that a 40 year old and a 55 year old may not.

  2. The equation to solve this problem is Her age >= (His age)/2 + 7
    So for your case 35/2+7 = 24.5 -> You're perfect!

  3. I usually only see people in my age rang (2-3 years older at the most). Only because those are the people I interact with the most on a regular basis.

  5. I'm 22, dating 30. I just graduated (going back to school) and he's been in the field for a while.

    It's not about age, it's about power. Sometimes it might be harder to date someone older because they can pressure you into things (even inadvertently) because they have more experience and influence, or a stronger personality, or something.

    In my case I actually have more dating experience than he does, so I'm not worried about who has the power in the relationship.

    The other problem might be that you have different experiences and interests to talk about, but I see that more as a problem between, say, 18 and 25, rather than 25/35.

    Anyways we both act like we're secretly five years old, so it's ok.

  6. Depends on their maturity. I've met a number of women much younger than me who are already quite accomplished in life. There isn't some arbitrary number to go by.

    1. So just he's fucking you then? Hope you're getting some benefits too because the chances that you're friends is pretty low.

    2. 7 is getting fucked just as much as the guy is. Seems like they're both benefiting equally...

    3. 7b, it takes very different things to please a 21 year old girl than a 32 year old man.

    5. It would probably be equal. Can say from experience.
