QUESTION: I applied for an international job on jobmine and got an interview. Now my parents are really mad but because of jobmine rules I can't back out. How can I refuse this job without getting kicked out of jobmine for the next two terms?

  1. Why would your parents care lmao what's wrong with them. Just go for it. Also if you actually didn't want the job you have the interview not the job just be super awkward in the interview

  2. If you don't want it for sure the only way out is a bad interview so you don't get ranked. Before you purposely bomb the interview, I would think hard if you want to give up a potentially good opportunity. Its good to consider what your parents preferences are though IMO it wouldn't be my first consideration in choosing a job.

  3. if that's how you want to live life you are living your parents life not yours. it could be an amazing experience, why deny yourself that?

  4. Assuming you DO want out, email the interviewer. Most companies don't hire employees that don't want to be there. Also tell them in the interview, if you haven't had it yet: at the beginning, thank them for the consideration but you cannot take the job, then leave.
