QUESTION: Any recommended 4th year science electives? I'm going into my 4B term, in Bio, Molecular Bio+Biotech specialization, minors in chem and biophys.

I want something interesting but not too difficult. So far my term has Biol 469, 434, 483 and Phys 491.

  1. 469?
483 was pretty easy. but have to do a 3 min presentation to the whole class.

    1. 469 is a new course this fall called genomics

  2. Biol 439.

Midterm worth 50%, Exam (non-cumulative) worth 50%, and an optional, bonus assignment "on anything in the course" for a potential extra 10%.

    1. Thanks for the suggestion! I already took 439 though (If anyone is reading this then I also suggest it. Easily one of my highest marks.) I guess this would be easier if I listed the 4th year bio courses I already took.

      448
      431
      439
      443
      414
      484
      432

    2. @2a, re: 484, what did you make of his assignments? i did well overall but totally bombed them, they seemed far too difficult

    3. Assignments were definitely the toughest part of the course, but I managed to do extremely well on the final and came out of the course with a good mark.

I don't mind when assignments are difficult but I wish he was a bit more generous when marking them.

  3. Are there any courses that have stuff on stem cells? Would 303 have it?

  4. OP here, my short list consists of
    Biol 303 - embryo
Biol 472 - disease cell bio
Sci 206 - phys of how things work (usually full though)
Biol 359 - evolution (i heard he makes it tricky on purpose though)
