QUESTION: Anyone change majors and/or universities only to discover it was the best choice they ever made regardless of the criticisms they received for doing so?
I transfered out of music at Laurier and into fine arts/french at UW after my second year. it was definitely the right choice, but it did tack on two useless and expensive years before i was able to get my undergrad degree.
I have a friend who switched out of Engineering into Biology and he always tells me how "it's nice to be in a major that you actually enjoy." You can imagine how much flack he received for switching from his Engineering buddies.. But he has no regrets. Pursue what you enjoy; that is probably the biggest factor in helping you make it through to the end.
I switched out of Biochemistry to do Nursing. Best decision ever. I don't regret my 2 yrs I spent at UW at all. I would never think of doing any other profession.
I changed majors after first year and it was easily the best decision I had ever made (at the time)
