Sufjan Stevens just released a new album last week, and it's quickly become my favourite of his (which is saying a lot, given pretty much all his albums are great).
I can't wait to listen to this! Didn't even know there was a new one out. My favourite tracks are For the Widows in Paradise, Casimir Pulaski Day, and Chicago (not very original, I know)
The Tallest Man On Earth, Mumford and Sons, Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, The Civil Wars, Kodaline, Paper Lions, Sleeping at Last, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Bastille, Passenger, The Beatles, Billy Joel
The Strokes, Cage the Elephant, Gorillaz, FIDLAR, Mac Demarco, The Last Shadow Puppets, Devendra Banhart, Drenge, Ty Segall, Drowners, Young the Giant & more like them. (I can make you a playlist if you like)
The Jam, The Clash (Joe Strummer on his own is great as well), Au Pairs, Tom Waits, XTC, The Pogues, The Cranberries, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Cult... So many more.
Pink Floyd !

ReplyDeleteDo you have a favorite track? "Should Have Known Better" is a great single, but I find myself gravitating towards "The Only Thing".
DeleteEveryone always talks about Illinois, but I prefer his more mellow albums.
9a - "Eugene" and "Fourth of July" are my top two, in no particular order (it seems to change pretty much daily).
DeleteAnd agreed about the mellow albums, Seven Swans is fantastic! I considered it his best until he released Carrie & Lowell.
