If you like your
teaching assistant and you think she might be into you as well, when is a
good time to ask her out? After exams? What if I never see her again?
Can I ask her out after the last class she teaches me, or is that weird?
We're the same age.
As a rule, one's students are gross. Good luck with this.
ReplyDeleteOh man, I must have absolutely misread everything that happened between us the last few months! I'll take your word on it and avoid making an ass out of myself, thanks pal.
Delete2 WAIT okay I'm back ... so as a rule I'm gross while I'm her student, but when I'm not her student anymore I might not be gross? I don't have to bail on this completely?
DeleteI don't think you can just assume that all TAs consider their students "gross". I'm a TA and have known plenty of TAs who teach their peers and friends (and probably people they'd date....) . If you think there's something there then go for it!
Delete@1c If you don't consider your students gross, you're underqualified. The gap in wisdom is, at best, off-putting and forms an unequal power dynamic. If you don't feel this, maybe you shouldn't be teaching.
DeleteDO IT. Better to hear a no, than never know what may have happened imo
ReplyDeleteGetting rejected feels better than never trying at all
