QUESTION:
If you like your teaching assistant and you think she might be into you as well, when is a good time to ask her out? After exams? What if I never see her again? Can I ask her out after the last class she teaches me, or is that weird? We're the same age.

  1. As a rule, one's students are gross. Good luck with this.

    1. Oh man, I must have absolutely misread everything that happened between us the last few months! I'll take your word on it and avoid making an ass out of myself, thanks pal.

    2. 2 WAIT okay I'm back ... so as a rule I'm gross while I'm her student, but when I'm not her student anymore I might not be gross? I don't have to bail on this completely?

    3. I don't think you can just assume that all TAs consider their students "gross". I'm a TA and have known plenty of TAs who teach their peers and friends (and probably people they'd date....) . If you think there's something there then go for it!

    4. @1c If you don't consider your students gross, you're underqualified. The gap in wisdom is, at best, off-putting and forms an unequal power dynamic. If you don't feel this, maybe you shouldn't be teaching.

  2. DO IT. Better to hear a no, than never know what may have happened imo
