    3. They don't fund scholarships at all, but the Canadian government doesn't have to subsidize them, so as long as they stay in Canada and pay taxes back to the federal and provincial government: whatever more money in the system.

That being said:A change I would like to see is havingEnglish requirements that actually show whether a person can read and write at the appropriate level. Get rid of this ENGL 109/119 bullshit. Make the requirement something like pick one of the ENGL courses that are actually real courses.

    4. I don't agree with you 2c. Yes revising the English requirements would be good, but not by taking different courses. The last thing I want is more subjectivity from some TA ruining my grades, and teaching me nothing in the process... I would rather some other way, but I wouldn't know what that would be.

    5. To 2c and 2d:
Changing English requirement won't do anything. As far as I know, people cheat a lot on English qualification exams in China (and possibly other places, but I don't know much). No matter how you raise the requirement, cheaters will still pass.

  3. Support for Kathleen Wynne's initiative to end sexual violence on campuses. Full real work to stop sexual violence/harassment by UW staff, including unchecked permanent reprisal/shunning by UW staff against the whistleblower. An end to the unwritten but ongoing program of neglect and tacit permission/participation of their bosses. That'd be nice.
