QUESTION: Alright newbie here, I don't have a clue on how to save money. I just finished paying off my student debt and I have debt free!!!.....but still broke. Tips on saving money? plz help
One thing that helps me is saying "Do I actually need this?" Like if I want to eat out when I have food at home, or go see a movie when I have netflix, or do I need cable when I have netflix. Basically, netflix can replace cable and going to movies.
Set up an online banking account and be aware of the numbers weekly. Sometimes the transactions total can shock you. Make sure to set up a savings account. When you get a paycheck, decide how much money you can reasonably afford to put away. Recommended is min 10%.
I find that making a budget is counterproductive. you know how much you spend on what, and with an online banking account, its easy to track
make a monthly budget plan where you can only spend a certain amount of money on food/entertainment/rent,etc and set aside extra money
