Orientation week is very fun and the university and upper year students try really hard to put together a lot of great activities. It is a dry week here, so there is no drinking during Orientation week, but honestly, you don't need to drink to enjoy yourself with all the events that are put on for students.
Don't listen to this faggot. O-week is basically a bunch of kiddish camp games, songs, team damces, and infinite shitty pizza pizza lunches. Will make you want to kill yourself, I guarantee it.
You can't count what goes on here as a true university experience its jus a bunch of stupid kid games sing a longs n overall childish shit if u want to have fun go to another school or party on your own
Meh, if you can't relax and enjoy something for what it is that's no one's problem but your own. "Childish games" include relays, throwing leaders into mud, building catapults out of scraps, and water balloons. I guess I wasn't as mature and sagely as the commenters above and enjoyed doing backflips for fake frosh points.
You have 4/5 years to drink and go out. There's only one week of frosh. You'll probably have better times in the years after but there's no reason not to get everything you can out of Frosh week.
pls I know daddy provides for your thumb sucking man child life But don't worry You will one day be an actual contributing citizen and not an oxygen sucking space occupier that you are now once you find yourself a job and pay taxes so we can provide for all the 30+ NEETS in the country who don't have mommies and daddies to fall back on the circle of life
i just remember going to frosh events in the first few days, meeting people, and then the rest of the week i just hanged out with people i met at residence and partied at the impromptu residence parties. it's unfortunate that people NEED alcohol to have fun.
It's a dry week, although some frosh create their own parties in the evenings and drink then. I'm in science and the day events felt a bit "campy" and were hard to get into if you're not really loud and outgoing IMO. I mainly stuck close to the one girl from rez who was in the same group as me. I did like the evening events though.
Frosh week wasn't really for me. I found it hard to get into the events because, as people above have commented, they're what you would expect of a summer camp. If you're into that kind of stuff you'll have a blast, because they do put a lot of effort into it and there are lots of activities to do throughout the day. If not, I suggest sticking around your dorm with the other people who aren't into that and make friends that way. I'd have liked it if during Frosh Week they had included more athletics/skills oriented type competitions, or have a few 19+ events without necessarily putting an emphasis on them.

ReplyDeleteIt's fun if you enjoy being treated like a fucking child, though.
