QUESTION: I still like Chris Brown, is this wrong as a female?

  1. You can appreciate someone's art without condoning their actions. Of course, not everyone can deal with that cognitive dissonance very well, but that's a personal thing. Also, I'm not sure your gender matters in this decision. I don't see why one's feelings about domestic violence would be affected by one's gender.

As another example, many Jews enjoy Wagner, despite his blatant anti-semitism. Others find his work deeply offensive.

  2. Lennon was a wife beater, but that seems to never come up whenever people express their love for The Beatles.

    1. b/c many white male celebrities get it brushed under the carpet as opposed to black male celebrities

  3. No, it's not wrong. You can be against what he did, and still enjoy his music (or not even care what he did). You're your own person, and no one has the right to dictate how you should feel about anything. People might judge you for your beliefs, but that comes with the territory.

  4. I think it's cool as long as you don't enjoy his violent streak...

  5. Heck, michael jackson like little kiddies, and he's the king of pop!
