Is there anyone you can contact that can supply a job for you? Keep applying and make sure your resume is intact.
If you can get your hands on any job, don't worry about co-op guidelines. At this point, CECA will accept the sketchiest of jobs as a co-op term. Try to personally reach out to the companies you have applied and speak to them about the job position.
Find a place close to home and see if there's a position open. Even your local tax services office or a small independently owned accounting firm. Personally call them or walk into their office and see if there's anything for you. It's gonna be tax season soon, so there's a higher chance of finding something. Don't lose fate and just keep trying. Also, contact CECA or your co-op advisor to see if they can help you match up with a job or directly inform you of an open position.
Hasn't AFM made its co-op streams much more flexible than it used to be? i.e. you can now choose when to do a study/co-op term. With that, you do have the option to just do a study term and work on resume critiquing for the summer term co-op search

Good luck.
Take a school term? skip the co-op term and try again next time.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately AFM is too structured with most of its courses, so we can't skip any co-op terms.

ReplyDeleteDepends on what year you're in. If this is their 1st co-op term, then I believe there's no flexibility there at all.
Deleteswitch out of afm
ReplyDeleteDont worry, keep applying EVERYWHERE. I think some volunteer position count as coop too. THeres still time!
ReplyDeleteMy friend found a volunteer position last year as well, but you're not supposed to tell CECA you're not getting paid or else things get difficult.
