QUESTION: I am skinny guy who recently started lifting weights at the gym to increase weight and build muscle. Any recommendations for a good post workout protein shake? The guy at the supplement store said whey protein shake from Diesel is of high quality, but I could not find any reviews online. Please help

  1. I use optimum. Its affordable and reputable. The important thing for building muscle is making sure you are running a calorie surplus every day. You don't just want to drink protein shakes. Let's say you're 150 lbs and 20 years old... Try to take in about 2500 calories a day. Calories are broken down into carbs fats and protein with 4,9,4 calories per respective gram. I split mine 40 20 40.

  2. Dude, it's protein, there's no 10-point checklist for "quality". There are no "reviews" for protein, unless you care about the taste. I guess it helps to know that it is indeed not cyanide...but I bet you could take your chances.
    Pick the cheapest one with a high protein percentage (helps to get stuff from reliable brands that don't lie about their %s). Whey is what you want.

  4. Protein powders are great, but more importantly is make sure your diet consists of things like chicken, beef, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs etc etc

      Also; make your own protein shakes as its much cheaper in the long run and much better for you. Pre-made protein shakes are (for the most part) just a way for companies to make money

    Also, I use Phase 8. The chocolate or cookies and cream flavors taste great, it fills you up and I love the mix of fast and slow release proteins.

  8. I usually go to Popeye's (the fried chicken restaurant, not the protein supplement store), order a big bucket of fried chicken, pour it into my blender, max power, cherry on top, drink up homie
