QUESTION: My Facebook interview mentions nothing about dress-code for the interview, but most people who've had FB interviews in the past said they were casual. Do I dress casually? D:

  1. Not sure if I would trust responses, here, because they might be trying to get your job. As someone who is currently on co-op, I always dress nicely for interviews. My standard is dress pants, button up shirt, tie, dress shoes. No full suit or anything. But its better to be overdressed than underdressed. They don't know what other interviews you have that day that might require full business wear.

  2. You should definitely wear at least dress pants and a nice shirt with a blazer. The snobby guys at Facebook won't even look at you if you're not dressed up like a douchebag.

  3. Shorts and an undershirt. Make sure you out stink and wear flip flops. Socal folks hate "the man" and suits.

  4. Wear a casual dress shirt, all black straight jeans, and leather shoes
    ^Can't go wrong with that

  5. When I interviewed for them, they said dress in what you're comfortable in, whether that be t-shirt and jeans, or a full suit. I dressed casual. Got the job. Work there full-time now.

    Don't smell.

  6. Please don't wear a suit. People are wrong when they say you can't overdress - you definitely can. "Cool and modern" companies like Facebook are looking for cultural fit in additional to technical abilities. You will not be a good cultural fit if you show up in a suit.

I personally would just wear a polo and jeans. Go for the clean look, not a flashy one.

    GL!!

  7. For all my tech girls out there:

My attire for tech interviews are usually as follows:
    a) Nice skirt + plain or nice swag t-shirt + flats
    b) Jeans + plain or nice swag t-shirt + casual blazer + converse
    c) Black jeans + semi-dress sleeveless shirt (think http://bit.ly/1E210ru) + sandals

I tend not to overdo the dressiness. I'd wear what I want to wear to work, a little bit of classy mixed with something fun or casual. Or a onesie.

    1. You sound very stupid. I hope - for your sake - that you come off better in person.

    2. @7a you sound intimidated that this chick will get the job you want.

    3. @7b: >plain or nice swag t-shirt
      >semi-dress sleeveless shirt
      >converse

She's giving fashion advice when she wears mundane, if not terrible, outfits. This is what every girl would be wearing anyway to an interview.

  8. If your interviewer can't be bothered to at the very least do it through Skype, why should you bother to dress for it?
