QUESTION: Can anyone explain to me why a site/service like Jobmine has 'hours of operation', and isn't available 24/7 like most other online services? Thanks!

    1. I heard they have to run nightly SQL synchronization scripts, but that seems plausible as well.

  2. There's no technical reason. CECA just believes they should take a stand in when we students should sleep

  3. What benefit do they get for shutting it down? I would think that the electricity cost for the servers are negligible compared to how much coop fee they charge us.

  4. A professor once told us that they take it down to prevent people from screwing around with it at night while site administrators are sleeping.

  5. Doesn't matter anyways, Jobmine is on its way out. The replacement has 24h service.
