QUESTION: For any of you go getters out there, do you study for your courses in advance (like 1 term before?). does it work?

  2. I've planned on doing it in the past and got as far as downloading the textbooks. Then I realize I don't understand shit and should probably just wait for the lectures.

  3. I might do like a week in advance or so. Usually I might just review stuff from like calc 2 if I'm starting calc 3. Studying a term in advance isn't worth it imo

    if you told me to go take a calc 3 midterm out of the blue, i'd bomb it because i wouldn't do it fast enough even though i understand and can solve all of the stuff on it

  5. I did this for Chinese, but it didn't help as much as I'd thought. We went over all of the things in class at a pace where I didn't need to worry about what I had learned before.

    I'd say perhaps just look it over and get the gist. Or if you know someone in the course sit around with them as they do some of the work on it. :)

  6. I would say going over previous material is far more valuable.

    You are going to learn the new stuff, but it is easier to pick it up when the old stuff that it builds on it fresh in your head.
