QUESTION: So I have a "health" issue I need to talk about and I have experience with Health Services but nothing like for this. It has to do with my genital area but it's not a std or anything like that. Would going to Health Services be fine just to ask them for direction/referral or does anyone know if I can just go to like GRH or something?

  1. Health Services has full time doctors that can answer any questions the same as other doctors at other hosipitals, but if you are uncomfortable you can just go into your family doctor, look up a local walk-in clinic, or try emerg at GRH, but you might be in for a really long wait

  2. Just go to health services.. I went there for a yeast infection. They have the same equipment as a gynocologist basically. Id trust health services over a walk in clinic

  3. You could check GRH, or if you think you need testing done, the Public Health building on Regina St. in Uptown.

  4. I had to go to Health Services once for a genital-related problem. They were very helpful, professional and able to deal with it.

  5. Go to Health Services. You pay for it, you might as well use it. Just tell the reception nurse that it's something else in the lobby (ie., "abdominal pain", or "leg pain"), and when you see the nurse after that, just tell her what is actually the problem. I've done this before when I had a genital-related issue and they get it. Nobody wants to tell the receptionist about the nature of their medical issue, especially something like that.
