QUESTION: If you go to church, where do you go? I've never gone before, but I'm interested in exploring religion. Ideally nothing too conservative (as a barometer, if most of the people there believe homosexuality is immoral then they're probably not for me)

  1. Check out Embassy. It's held at Laurier and I've been there a couple times through a friend who used to run it. They're open to everyone and really nice and informative!

  8. Check out church websites and read their faith statements, that might help you figure out if it might be a good fit. When I decided I wanted to check out churches I went to a shit ton until I found mine. I'd recommend to look for a place where people are honest about their own struggle with being human and who aren't afraid ask questions that don't necessarily have answers.
    Happy church hopping :)

  9. Oh, and some places post podcasts of past messages if you want to listen before you go.

  10. There's a young adults group called the Republic that meets at the Chainsaw uptown, Sundays at 6:45. And Uptown Community Church is a pretty young community that meets Sunday mornings at the Princess Twin Cinemas uptown at 10:30. Both of them have Facebook pages so check them out!

  11. I love everyone in this thread. I wish I had been more plugged into the Christian community when I was at UW for my undergrad.
