QUESTION: To all the ladies,
how awks is it taking a shit at rev? How did you cope? When is the best
time to do it? Did you and roommate speak about shitting comfortably.
I'm uncomfortable using public bathrooms so this is my greatest fear
about residences.
not exams, not co-op placements, not OSAP, no job market after graduation. no it's shitting at rev. lol
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I'd have to agree with OP
DeleteAny shame about pooping in public will be gone within a month. You kinda just go when you have to.

DeleteDefinitely. I used to hate using public bathrooms. Within a couple of weeks of residence in first year, I just stopped caring. Let'r rip.
Deletehit the hand dryer right before you go into the stall. It usually stays on long enough for a quick dump
ReplyDelete^ This would probably just give me anxiety about trying to get all the shit out before the hand dryer stops.
DeleteOP, you'll just get used to it. Everyone needs to poop, there's nothing embarrassing about it. Maybe you can try to go when the bathrooms aren't busy (late at night, very early in the morning, in the middle of the day when most people are in class)
I agree about the Engineering building but Math building bathrooms have always had at least one other girl in it at all times and once they leave another one comes in. Especially on the 2nd floor, there are even lines waiting to use the bathroom. Engineering though, I think I've only seen another girl twice and once they left, no one came to replace them.
DeleteOh- I replied to the wrong comment. I'm really sorry :(
DeleteThe girls on my floor did this, so any time you walked by and heard the dryer but no one was there you knew someone was taking a dump
DeleteI turn the hand dyer on out of sympathy when I see shoes but hear absolute, pin-drop silence. Knowing a person is in there desperately holding in pee or sucking a poop back in just because I walked in..
Deletego in the engineering buildings
ReplyDeleteThis is true for OP and any female... any male should never attempt this. Same goes for the mathematics buildings. Why is there the same number of male and female bathrooms when there are significantly more males in those buildings
Deletewtf 4A...
DeleteWhat? There's 5 times as many males so the bathrooms are overused relative to the female ones
DeleteOP don't worry. everyone does it. believe me soon enough you'll start to not care.
ReplyDeletePut headphones on, ignorance is bliss.
ReplyDeleteJust go while someones in the shower. That is how I functionwd.
ReplyDeleteI'm female, lived in REV and experienced this problem first year. I'd tell myself that "everyone shits, it's no big deal!" but my body would just not go if there was the chance that someone could walk in and hear me mid-shit. I guess instead of a shy bladder, I had a shy rectum? I could go easily in the middle of the day when most of my floormates were in class. At night or on weekends when they were around, I'd just take a walk and find an empty washroom on campus and go.
ReplyDeleteUgh isn't using a public facility, like, SO AWKWARD?!?!?! AMIRITE LADIEZ?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteThere's one private bathroom on the first floor I believe.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about REV, but I had this same issue at Renison. If you look around the building (usually the first floor) there is a handicap bathroom or two and they are private with locks and a sink and everything. I only used them when my floor was busy and I couldn't be alone, but they were a life-saver! My roommate and a couple other floormates did the same as me.
