  3. I had some friends who lived with a guy who:

-Ordered KFC or pizza every night and threw the garbage out of the second story window
-Never left his room when in the house and pissed into bottles so he didn't have to leave his computer
-Masturbated furiously several times a day which could be heard throughout the house

    2. That sounds terrible for her (and for you if she left her pads everywhere), she should've seen a doctor.

    3. @6a: >did it smell off?

Are you serious? Try smelling blood coming out of your genitals and tell me if it smells "off".

  7. Roommate randomly brought his dog to live with us without asking. Took off for the weekend without checking to see if anyone would be around to look after said dog. I was also gone for the weekend and, when I got back, I found that the dog had pissed all over everything and left turds all over the floor. The poor thing looked absolutely jazzed to see me. Honestly, who does that?!?!?

  8. Roommate left the kitchen in the most disgusting state and didn't give a shit about how I felt about it. Worse yet the landlord didn't seem bothered by the mess either. Eg. She defrosted chicken by leaving it on the top of the fridge, which caused the blood to run down the sides of the fridge, and she refused to clean it up.

  9. one of my first year friends roomed with a girl who would blow her nose into her own hand, and then just hold her snot until whatever episode of some soap opera was finished, and then go wipe it off with a napkin

  10. Had a brown guy in CS as a room mate who smelled awful. He stunk up the kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, hallways, everything. We had a skunk die just outside of the house and start to rot so we would leave the windows open because we preferred that smell over him.

  11. In first year I had a room mate who would jerk off and just leave it on his bed to dry. He was away for the summer, left his belongings in the room, and the landlord decided to rent out his room to make some extra cash. The new renter constantly complained how the bed was "crunchy" and smelled funny in the room thereafter. This same room mate destroyed the bathroom literally five minutes after I cleaned it during reading week. I used two pairs of gloves, and plastic bags, to clean that horrid mess to begin with and he walks in after I'm done and decides to shave his pubes with little curlies left abound afterwards. It was as if someone shaved a little dog in the bathroom. His destructiveness wasn't just held to within our house either. One time he got hammered and crashed at a friends house on their nice Italian leather sofa. He proceeded to piss himself and ruin the sofa, in addition to causing water damage to his new cell phone.

  12. My roommate and I had two loud Chinese exchange students for one term in CLV. They always stayed up late at night and screamed at each other while playing DotA. They'd constantly piss all over the toilet seat instead of putting it up, and they rarely flushed when they were done. They'd order Chinese food and pile up the containers in the kitchen instead of throwing it out. They also never cleaned up after their mess. The kitchen constantly had soy sauce stains and noodles all over the counters and floor.

  13. Advice if I may suggest? Start off by bringing these little or big things to the offending roommate's attention on day one and perhaps use a little humor and a blank look on your face, someone just pee'd on the toilet seat and didn't wipe it off? I''d call buddy over to the bathroom and point it out and mention that I think you missed something. Same with any other infraction or lack of cleaning etc, I would start with some humor but if it becomes clear the offender is doing it on purpose or out of ignorance then get tougher and say excuse be but we have a problem, I can't use this bathroom or kitchen or whatever until you clean this up..

Best thing to invoke are health and safety standards as per the district health unit, you should be able to find guidelines on the web, print them and post them.

Kitchen being left dirty? any idea how much harmful bacteria there is on that food preparation surface? The health dept websites will tell you.

We are not talking about being clean freaks or neat freaks here but about health and safety, present it that way, the use of terms like "this is against public health and safety regulations" goes a long way as opposed to you just not liking to step on a freshly peed on floor when goes to use the shower.

Keep in mind some people from different cultures have different standards as well as kids who have had their parents do almost everything for them at home might honestly not know or realize that there isn't a magic cleaning lady who comes along at night, and they might need some education on the basic things like this.
