And the amount you pay is what you actually get permanently, unlike at V1 and REV. So if you're going to end up spending $1800 on food on campus eventually anyway, it's still worth it.
You don't want a meal plan if you're living off campus. It's an overpriced package for buying overpriced food. Go to a grocery store and buy groceries for yourself, over the course of a term you'll probably save more than half the money you would have spent on a meal plan.
