I was in CLV, in the furthest unit. I had a car, but I only used it to get groceries, sometimes. Sobeys was close enough to walk if I wasn't getting a lot of stuff, more something heavy. I only had th car because I would go home every couple weekends for dinner with my parents.
Agree 100%. None of the residences are sooo far away from campus that you would need a car. Even when you're living off campus, you might as well use the bus system since the fee is included in your tuition. Getting a parking space on campus is also super expensive.
I guess the only reason you might want a car is if you're using it to go home or travel to see an SO. But bussing would work for that too unless your parents/SO live in the middle of nowhere.
Unless you have some disability, there is no need for a car. I never lived on res, always "far" from campus. Just used the bus all the time. Why spend more money?
I never had a car in four years of going here and never had any problems making my way to campus or getting groceries. Very few people actually NEED a car while at university, especially when living in res.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely not necessary. Cars are a waste of money at this point.
