QUESTION: How do you know if you're being asked out or if the person just wants to hang out as friends?

  1. Pro tip for you fellow guys out there, if you ask out a girl and she asks this, then you lost the game. If there's any chance for confusion at all, fucking say "DO YOU WANT TO GO _ON A DATE_ WITH ME".

  2. Just asking is the best way. Clarity saves a lot of uncertainty. If you find that too awkward and if you're into the person, then just go hang out and watch for the clues. If you're taking the time to ask this question, I'm guessing you hope you're being asked out. Asking right out is best though.

  3. Like 2 said, just ask. It's hard to tell, even if the person asks to "hang out", he/she might not mean that to be platonic.

I would go hang out with the person and bring it up then.

  4. I know a lot of women who have this problem with guys who aren't entirely clear on whether or not it is a date. The best way, as the above commentors said, is to just ask them if it's a date. It's less awkward to ask that and be wrong than it is to find out halfway through that it _was_ a date.

  5. 1. Do you want to chill? (Asking if you just want to hang out)
    2. Do you want to go on a date? (Asking if you want to date)
    3. Do you want to fuck? (Asking if you want to be fwb)

  6. Ugh I have this exact problem. Sometimes I talk with a guy at a social event and we have a good conversation, and then he asks for my number. Does he want to be friends with me or something more? From my perspective I just think they're a nice person and would be good to have as a friend. How do you clarify without it sounding extremely awkward? "Are you asking for my number cuz you're into me or just want to be friends?" Awkward as fuck.

    2. Well, he asked for my number so that he can ask me to hang out sometime. It can be taken either way :/

And what if you do just want to be friends with that person? How else can you ask for a contact?
