There's no shame in doing something stupid because you didn't know any better. To avoid it, I suggest going with a buddy who knows what they are doing. Either way, don't let the fear stop you. Get out there.
Do it, mate. Don't worry about what other people think. Despite what this ASK is showing, the people who are working out at the gym are mainly focused on their own routines, and not yours. Don't forget that!
If it helps, start doing some hard cardio first when you enter the gym. You will be on such a runner's high, (Google is your friend if you don't know this phrase), that you won't even care who's there. That's how I first started my workouts and it worked!
Lol I think I know who you're talking about. OP maybe you should ask them why they use the rack for bicep curls :p. And if you need it that bad, most likely then not he would immediately move to let you use it.
Saw a guy doing deadlifts in the rack.
