QUESTION: How do you deal with having been matched for a shit job?

  1. Can't do much, you are told to only apply to jobs you would work for. Just go do it, put a smile on your face, and do the best you can do. If they like you, you will get a good review, and might get a better job next time.

  2. Don't be a dumbass that applies to jobs that you don't want? Learn to be a functional human being? Cry?

  3. You'll just have to suck it up and make the best of it. Maybe take up some volunteer work or personal projects on the side to beef up your resume for the next term.

@ 1 and 2: I agree that you should only apply for jobs you're willing to be matched to, but it could be the case that the job advertisement lied/exaggerated and OP only found out how shitty it actually was during the interview. (This happened to me once)

    1. If that were to happen, couldn't you file some sort of complaint to be taken out of the job?

    2. ^ I asked CECA if I could get out of the job after being matched and they said no. It seemed like they wouldn't even consider it so I didn't think it was worth the fight. But maybe I should have tried harder.

I made a complaint after the term was over though so that hopefully the company wouldn't do it again.

    3. ^ Yeah I got stuck in a job and tried to get out of it, the only way they would've let me was to drop coop altogether. It sucks but at least it's only a short time period so just do your best to make it a positive experience.

  4. Possible solutions:
    Burn down their headquarters :0
Hire an international worker to take over your role :)
    Blackmail/bribe CECA :/
First day show up drunk in your pyjamas, and the only phrasea you can say are "Suuuup Duuude," and "Don't worry brah, I got dis." XD

  5. Don't know, never been matched to a bad job before, you'd have to tell me. Just my two cents :)
