  1. Maybe if you're retarded

  2. One hour isn't that bad. I feel people here aren't used to taking transit in big cities too often. I travel regularly on city transit for 30-40 mins.

  3. Are you talking about the free buffet for Canada day at Mandarin?

    2. I was going to go to that as well but then I saw videos on youtube of the crazy ass line ups from previous Canada days where they had free buffet at Mandarin..

    3. If you're going to try to go to the free Canada Day buffet at Mandarin in Sportsworld, good luck! In the Rexdale area in Toronto, they had to call the cops for crowd control, one time. Some people actually camped out...just for a free buffet.

  4. a) 1 hour there 1 hour back = No
    b) 1 hour total travel time = Maybe

If you are going with friends then I would make b) into a yes.

  6. Depends how much your time is worth. Even at minimum wage unless the meal is worth $20, an hour there and back is stupid. If you are making like $20/hour the meal should be $40+. Chances are it's not worth it.

  7. 6, if you can find work on Canada Day, then your scenario applies.

But I doubt any employer will take u just for Canada day with no interview nor training.

    1. I think he's making a more general statement about how much your time is worth. If someone is willing to hire you for $20/hour, that means you could put an hour of your time to much better use than just sitting on a bus waiting for free food.

    2. ^yeah that's stupid. How much time do you spend hanging out with friends, watching TV, cooking, doing laundry, etc. I'm assuming this guy isn't going alone as well. Could just be a fun trip with friends.

    3. @7b: Sure, but most of those things are necessities. I'd rather do any of the things you mentioned (other than watching TV) than spend an hour on a bus going to a shitty free buffet.

    4. Why can't OP just bring his laptop and watch something (download it beforehand) or do homework or read a book or go online or listen to music or play a game or talk with friends etc. while waiting? I take an hour to get to work everyday and it's not bad because I don't waste my time.
