QUESTION: What is the point of the Math/CA program? Isn't is the exact same thing as AFM in the sense that the "math" you learn is pretty much useless and you take the exact same courses as AFM's beyond first year?
Lol I have no idea, most of the people that get into the program are really smart, but whats the use. Either they will go on to the accounting and end up in places like big 4 which you could have gotten with AFM. Or they will see that their mathematical skills could broaden their career and go a different path completely.
Either way I am glad I didn't get accepted in the program 3 years back.
~40% of Math/CAs drop out because accounting is shit, and the other 60% are basically AFMs. The only benefit of Math/CA is that it's the easiest way to get a BMath (no second year math courses required).
If you start in Math CA and hate it after first year, you can switch to another math program like CS, Actsc or mathbus. have fun switching from AFM to one of those. Also if you really like math, why not.. first year math courses are kinda fun and they teach you a lot about logic and thinking.
The point is to steal your soul, time and money.
