Keep trying harder on your assignments, participate in class, ask questions during office hours to help you understand and make sure you stay on top of the readings/problems. By doing these things, it will help you reinforce your learning and it's better than just going to class and reading the slides. I know that's a typical response but you have to work hard to get results.
Or to be brutally honest, ask yourself, do I want to be in this program? I remember talking to Donna because my marks weren't great and they were starting to fall below the 70% requirement, and she asked me why I wanted to stay in this program. If I'm being honest with myself, it's because I felt like I had already invested so much time and money into the program and with only a year left I felt like I might as well just finish. But, if you really don't enjoy it and don't see yourself in accounting or finance, there's no harm in switching programs or taking some time off to find out what really makes you happy.
After that meeting with Donna, it made me see a different perspective, that I should be glad I've made it this far and I was accepted into this program for a reason. So this semester I have been dedicated my time to bringing my mark back up. I'm not saying that I'm a straight A student now but it does feel good to get midterms back that you studied hard for and know that you are getting decent marks or are around the average.
Everyone struggles in AFM - most people just won't admit it. The people who say shit like, "Oh i only studied for like 4 hours and got a 90" are full of shit. They just think it makes them seem cool
