QUESTION: Is it even possible to pass biochem? I feel like I'm slowly dying every time I have that class...

  1. Don't worry!
I was really worried about that class when I took it last term.
It didn't help that I rarely went to class (anxiety issues)

Everything turned out alright. My advice to you would be to make sure you study the online and in class quizzes very well, and memorize all the amino acids (just keep drawing them over and over).

  3. Search "amino acid" on the google play store or app store. You'll find an app specifically for testing your amino acid knowledge from structures, to codes/abbreviations and pKa values. Make sure to open it up at least once a day. It takes zero effort to pull it out and do a few questions on the bus ride home.

  6. I feel like I might know who OP is because of a similar conversation I recently had.

In any case, remember it's easy, at least a lot easier than orgo! :)

    5. When you have schedules like this: http://i.imgur.com/JVUfoar.jpg
It's nice having "lunch time" schedule in.

  8. Make a study group please. I would suggest working on the quizzes and assignments in groups and just practice the questions and concepts on the slides over and over again. You will find it easy this way.

  9. Make sure you have a prof other than Gilbert.. and do not solely rely on the slides because that's what I did and I nearly failed the course. Make sure you have friends in the class to study with and ask questions.

    1. I had Gilbert and loved her. Got an A in the course without putting too much effort in

  10. Study with someone, even if they are not in your class. If you are a girl, first name starts with R, I would be willing to sit down in my free time and quiz you on your notes. My mom teaches this stuff, so I will probably know half of it from dinner conversations back in high school.

From the guy from coop, first name starts with A

  12. Biochem is one of the toughest programs at UW. Heard nightmare stories about it.

    1. Nobody gives a shit about your schedule or program. You make enough money on co-op to pay for everything and you ride the grade curve like it's going out of style. What a fucking joke.
