My father is a huge science nerd, super shy, but he was blessed with great genetics. Perfect skin, built, extremely athletic. He was also extremely well educated (PhD)
My Mom is the equivalent of a cheerleader captain, extremely sociable and outgoing. Always well dressed, well mannered, very socially concious and caring.
I don't think my dad talked to all too many girls, when my mom came along he basically thought he hit the jackpot and just wifed her up before she could run away
Dad picked mom. Chased after her. Dated her boyfriend's sister to get close to her. Got the girl. Married happily for 24 years (their anniversary is today actually)
My grandpa, but really my mom. My mom worked for my dad's dad for a summer in university and he thought she was great and would always tell my dad he should marry her some day.
My dad eventually asked her out and life was great, but my dad was much more into it. My mom turned down his first proposal, but they continued to date. He asked a year or so later and they got married. So I think I would say it was my mom who was holding the power.
They have been married for 30 some years now. Mom is still in charge.
