It's not just on campus, it is all around KW. I have had 2 bikes stolen from me and so has my boyfriend. 2 were stolen from a locked shed in our backyard, that was not visible. The other two were stolen from the bike rack behind my new apartment building (not visible from the street), and both were locked up with two locks each. Now we just keep our bikes in our apartment.
Always lock up your bike, even in places you think it's safe and never use a cable lock as your only line of defense. A general rule of thumb is that your lock should cost about %10 of the value of your bike. Here are two links related to organised bike crime and how to properly lock up your bike
