QUESTION: Just returned to Waterloo from co-op. Anyone else notice a strong increase in the south asian population?

  1. Yeah. When I was studying for exams at the end of last term the only other people around me were mandarin chinese. For like 3 days straight.

    Racism aside, it's probably because they are international students so their home is Waterloo. Other students probably went back home for the summer.

  6. Welcome back to Canada OP. Wow nice that you had a chance for a work term in India by the sounds of it. Naw I stayed local so I didn't get the chance to notice the strong increase first hand. But checking online in that time India's population went up about 6.8 million people. That's like 1.6% annual growth - kinda stable not strong? Don't know about the rest of the south asian population tho as I wouldn't want to generalize.
