i was kicked out of co-op at the end of first term because i failed half my courses and didn't do well in the other half. i basically just had to make sure that my grades were good enough in second term so i could be reinstated. i then filled out the form to be reinstated to co-op, and waited to see if my grades were deemed good enough to be considered to do so. lucky for me, they were and i was reinstated the following term.
not sure what kind of process you were looking for, but this was my experience. hope it helps :)
OP, I'm kinda wondering about the same thing. I'm currently finding a job for my third co-op term but i just found out that I have to meet the minimum requirement for my program and faculty in order to stay in the co-op stream. For me, it's 70% for major average and 65% overall. I'm so scared because i really love co-op, my parents and friends feel really good about Waterloo's co-op and are very proud of me. But my grades are so shitty this term.my 1A grades are so much higher..

and this fuckin failure is going to have an easier time getting a job than me because of co-op (which I was never in).
DeleteWish somebody told me marks don't count for shit.
@1, What faculty/program are you in? And who determines whether your grades are good enough? Your program advisor? department chair?
Deletebefore: i was in co-op
ReplyDeleteafter: no longer in co-op
I mean like is there a meeting with the co-op department at some point?
ReplyDeletewhen you say kicked out, it sounds harsh, like if I were to literally kick you out of my party

ReplyDeleteI was in a similiar situation, I killed 2A and I mean murdered it, and no employer bats an eye at me.
DeleteIf you did good on 1A, you can do it again! good luck
