QUESTION: Does anyone use coconut oil for their hair? What's it like? I'm a dude growing out a shag and I need to start taming the thing a bit..

  1. I leave it in for about an hour before I wash my hair, although it's a little bit hard to wash out, it makes it super soft and shiny.

  2. +1 for number 1.

Also, you can try putting in argon oil after washing hair while it is slightly damp for similar results on-the-go. All you need is a dime size amount. Rub it in the palm of you hands and try to distribute is evenly to the ends of your hair.

  3. Argon oil, but I prefer putting it in before a wash. Coconut oil is the cheaper version. Also your hair might smell like the oils a bit if you put it on after a wash.

  4. I have long hair, so I leave the coconut oil in my hair overnight and then wash it thoroughly in the morning.

  5. I rub about a nickel-sized amount into the ends after towel-drying every time I wash my hair. I got my hair cut about 4 months ago and no split ends. :)

  6. I have hair down to my boobs and often slather coconut oil on my hair before bed. I then wake up and shower in the morning, shampooing twice or using a clarifying shampoo.
