QUESTION: Thoughts on PHIL 226 with C. Lowry? In terms of difficulty, which is easier -- PHIL 226 or INTST 101?

  1. Doesn't Brian Orend teach these classes? Never heard of Lowry. I found INTST 101 easier and it related to things currently happening in the news. PHIL 226 is a good basis for learning about ethics but INTST gives you a better picture of the world around you.

  2. I had Lowry last term for that class. It is a good bird course, especially when you have other courses that require a lot of time. We had like 2 essays and a final. But essays need to be very well done in order to even break the 80+ mark. Exam is M/C and not too bad but can be tricky if you cramp.

  5. PHIL 226 with Lowry was really easy. You don't have to go to class, and there are only 2 essays and a final. The essays have a lot of elements to them but if you cover everything you are suppose to I found they marked fairly easy. The final was multiple choice and was really fair.
