The scene kind of sucks. There aren't a lot of people in Waterloo on the sites (compared to bigger cities). But then again, I've been on one site on and off for a pretty long time so maybe I've exhausted all my options.
If you're new to online dating, there's nothing to lose from giving it a try.
Pretty shit. I was on lavalife for quite a long time. I don't know what those ladies were looking for, but I suspect they were in the wrong town to find it. Seemed like maybe Aliston, or maybe Mount Forest might be more their scene. That's right. They were country bumpkins who thought KW was like living in the big city.
i recommend okcupid. be prepared, there are a lot of socially awkward people on there, which reflects the large number of mathematicians, engineers and scientists that stay in the area after graduating from UW. from what i've experienced, mostly they're pretty nice. if you fill out your profile, actually put up pics, and are willing to wade through a lot of spammy messages, you can definitely find some interesting people.
I thought that it was good. I got plenty of messages on OKC and about 50% of them were potential keepers. Further, I met my current boyfriend on the site and he's lovely. :)
From my own experience, really shallow. Though to be fair I've only used one site

What sites do you people use?
ReplyDeleteOkCupid, POF, and bbs.uwcssa.com
DeleteI recommend Okc, not POF. (I've tried both) I've never heard of the third one.
Deletepretty shit
ReplyDeleteLike #1 said, pretty shallow. I'm female, barely get any message/responses.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you sign up for a few profiles and find out for yourself?

ReplyDelete+ 1 I completely agree.
DeleteIt's grim for both men and women. That's okay though, you leave as soon as you're done :)
