QUESTION: Hello! Does anyone know any good on-campus volunteer positions for the spring term? I've been looking around, but I can only seem to find paid positions and tutoring jobs. I mainly just want to meet people and build up my resume, and so far I've only really done tutoring jobs, so I would like a change. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

    1. I WAS THINKING THE EXACT SAME THING. EVERYTHING IS VOLUNTEER-BASED.

    2. One of my friends keeps referring to paid jobs, and there are also quite a few available on leads! :)

    3. This is true but most times, they are residence-related which exclude a lot of the off-campus folks.

  2. Anything Feds-related (services - Women's Centre, GLOW, Food Bank, CRT), clubs (the entire list is located on the Feds website - pick what you are most interested in!), Imprint, faculty student societies (MathSoc). Definitely check out volunteering locally (even if the bus is 10-20 minutes). There's a ton of organizations to volunteer at - The Museum, Working Centre, Food Kitchen, K-W Food Bank, non-profits or charities in the area.

  3. Paid Positions: Work Studies
(only if you have osap + full time studies though)

  6. Consider getting in touch with WPIRG. They're located on the third floor of the SLC. They have a number of action groups and projects which are typically looking for volunteers. Give their website a look over.

  9. There are TONS of paid positions on campus that are NOT work study positions. I don't get OSAP, but have had several part time jobs on campus. Start emailing different departments at UW to see what is available. Same goes for volunteer jobs!
