QUESTION: Taking the summer off before grad school - yay or nay?

    7 straight years of post secondary will defeat you. None of my friends that went straight into grad school from undergrad ever considered doing a PhD. At the end they essentially said, I'm done with school. Never again.

    You need a break. But make sure you keep in touch with your prof, and try to read a few papers related to your potential thesis topics in that summer. Just to get your mind crackin' away.
