Haha yeah I kind of feel the same way but in the reverse- I'm graduating, single, and going to grad school in something that's female-saturated. (I'm a straight girl) Maybe I'll join some clubs or something.
Guys typically just assume that the females don't exist, or are already taken by the alpha elites of society. It's difficult for some guys to believe someone would be in to them.
I acknowledge that there are girls in math, but here are *very* few girls in pure math (which is what I'm in). That's just reality. If I want to meet someone I'll really connect with, I'll probably need to meet more than two or three girls. I'm just worried that my only opportunities to meet people will be within the department, where there are few girls.
Honestly. If you are seriously thinking that that is a reason for you to not go to graduate school, you really shouldn't go... You're clearly not interested in the subject enough, and you are clearly emotionally immature. If you have a hard time not being in a relationship, you will be fucked when you're in graduate school--it is very isolating.
OP here. I didn't say once that I didn't want to go to grad school ... I'm just worried about my opportunities to continue dating once I'm a grad student.
oh boy. I graduatED. I'm single. I'm in Engineering grad school, and it's the hardest thing in the world trying to meet people. This is probably different for people in other faculties, but unfortunately the minority in engineering grad are not from canada and are rarely ever interested in socializing outside their circles.
graduating. single. not worried.
ReplyDeleteGraduating, single, going to college in September. Not worried.
ReplyDeleteWhat program are you planning on doing in September? :)
DeleteGoing for a two-year forestry diploma at Fleming.

ReplyDeleteGraduating, single, not desperate or worried.
ReplyDeleteSo you would never want to make "dat romance" with a girl going to grad school in math? Or we just don't exist?
