QUESTION: How do people normally go about finding a place in Toronto for a summer co-op? It seems on kijiji, most places want immediate tenants, while other rental sites want leases. (I'm looking for a 1bdrm apartment, preferably furnished)

  1. Try Airbnb. Not really sure if you couldn't get 4 months but it could be an option.

  2. Haven't had much luck with short term 1 bedrooms in Toronto. You're more likely to find a 2 bedroom place on kijiji in my experience. If you're ok with awkwardly living in the house of asian family you can search 51.ca (you'll have to ask someone who reads chinese). It's only 4 months!

  3. If you're there for the spring, should be easy enough to sublet from a UofT student. Or you could live in their rez..

  4. OP here: the thing is, it's me and my boyfriend living together and most multiple bedroom sublet places don't want couples..

  5. There's a torontorenting subreddit that is worth trying.

  6. Yo OP, depends on your budget, if you are willing to roll out some cash then you can get a place 2 weeks before the term starts for 4 months, but they charge crazy. You could also try finding a place like near sq1 or cooksville and be literally 20 minutes away from downtown toronto (by train).

  7. I lived at woodsworth college residence at UofT. It's really nice and not unreasonably priced for Toronto. you can do a 3 or 4 month thing.
