QUESTION: As anyone ever gotten an interview by applying with a resume only and no cover letter?

  1. YES!!!! Some employers don't even look at your cover letter and instead skip right to your resume :)

  7. Same here, I only write 2 or 3 cover letters per term (for positions that I really want). All the jobs I've ever gotten came from just submitting a resume. (I'm in science faculty. I don't know if it's different for other faculties.)

  8. Speaking in terms of percentage, I get fewer interviews if I write cover letters, and gave up on them a few terms ago.

  9. Yep. I wrote cover letters for my first work term. Never again.

    Just do cool shit, and make a kick ass resume. No cover letter needed.

  11. I only give a cover letter when it specifically asks for one. I have always gotten one of my top 3 jobs first round.

  12. Wrote a cover letter maybe once or twice, most of them were humorous and very informal. Get interviews for every position I applied for.
