QUESTION: Has anyone taken ITALST 111: Women, Family, Sex & Tradition with Vera Golini?
Can anyone give me any information on the class (workload, assignments, exams and what the prof is like, etc.)? This would be a huge help!
Thanks :)
(I'm already enrolled in the class, just unsure of whether to stay in it).

  1. What a horrible sounding class.

Side note: I'm sure you will find out what it is like in less than a week.

    1. Why does it sound horrible? I read the course description and it sounds quite interesting.

    2. Who the fuck wants to learn about the 'traditional role' of a woman? I'm not 1 but it sounds like the most obvious, annoying and pointless class.
Like okay, lesson 1: women were expected to hold down the family and have sex. That's all your lessons. Exam tomorrow.

    3. @1b: I was about to amend your mistaken view regarding the content of the course, but then I realized you could just as easily do that by using a handy little tool called "Google"; hence I won't waste my time.

Perhaps you should do a little research before spouting your nonsense?

  2. Good option if you need to get arts breadth requirements and don't want to take a language.

  3. OP: I just need it for my Arts Breadth and don't want to take a language (like 2 said^). I don't really care about the course info. I just wanted to know if the prof was any good, and about workload. hahah

  5. I've taken both ITALST 111 and ITALST 292 and honestly, if you're in at least 2A I would suggest taking 292 over 111. The prof for that class is the worst I've ever had. I just checked the availability for both classes and there's still room in 292. Obviously it's at a different time, but if you have the option of 292, please take it over 111. 292 was easy AND interesting as opposed to 111 were the prof ignored all males in the class, was very focused on herself and her opinions. She also has a bad habit of poorly marking questions on exams and then making up a random reason as to why your answer was wrong (even though it was right).
Anyways, take 292 if you are able :)
