QUESTION: Would you date someone in the same program with you, especially if you're in a cohort program? If you are or did, how does/did it turn out?

  1. No. I personally wouldn't date anyone from my HS, my program, or my workplace. My personal rules.

  2. Just remember: if you break up, every class for the rest of your time here will be awkward

  3. I did. Breakup was hard, and I hate seeing them around. Other people in my class also have, and they've managed to stay friends. It depends on how maturely you handle it.

  4. I wouldn't. Although it's great because you get to see each other everyday, the potential for breakup is not worth.

  5. I would, if there were any girls in my program...no joke...there are zero in my year.

    1. It just means that everyone in your program has the exact same schedule as you since you have the same required courses. This is standard for engineering at Waterloo.

  7. I started dating someone in first year from my high school who was also in the same program as me. During 2A, we didn't have any classes together. Even when I did my ex, I wasn't really bothered by it. We didn't exactly stay "friends" since we barely ever talk now.

Overall, I don't recommend dating someone in the same program...especially if it's a cohort one where you have a high chance of having the same schedule. The first two or so months of the break up will be hard.
