QUESTION: Does anyone know the rate of pay for Fort Mac jobs? Companies like Shell and Syncrude seem to hire a lot of civil/mech engineering students for coop. How much do these jobs pay?

  1. > 30$/hr depending on your # of previously completed co-ops. If you're heading there in the fall or winter dress real warm.

  2. They pay amazingly well and I heard they pay for flight and housing. But it is boring and there is nothing around.

    1. Fort Mac has a surprising alot to do. In addition to many other students in the area. The town has a population over 100k

  3. I was at syncrude, got $25 an hour for my second co-op term (pay is more depending on your term) and they paid for housing. I worked housing out to be $10 an hour in a standard work week. They said my place was $1500 a month. I say it was $35 an hour just because its really what I would have been making if I had to find my own place.

    1. Can't you just say 25+housing. This mental gymnastics seems useless, unless you're trying to one-up someone in salary...

    2. It's just that not everyone who goes there is given free rent, so I include it for comparison. Most students get housing though. I think there is a raise of $2 per co-op term, or something like that. A friend who was one co-op term a head of me was making 27
